Halloween......

Today is "Halloween" to most of the known (canadian) world at least. Often when this day comes we as christians are at a loss as how to go about handling it. I've done a good many things in days gone by. I've went to play games at someones house with other christians. I've lived in places where it's unlikely to get any visitors(such as those good matheson sideroads) and i've hung out in the dark. The last two years we've began passing out candy with bible materials. (Living smack in the middle of a town has a way of making you deal with this issue!!) Although we are not at all saying halloween is something we want to participate in as we do not go out with our children and we do not celebrate it as if it were a wonderful thing. We however are not against passing out the gospel to those who freely come to our door. What about you? What will you or did you do for Halloween this year?

we handed out candy and an invitation to a bible kids club. Not that many kids considering we live smack dab in the middle of town. I think a lot of parents take their kids to the more rich neighbourhoods so they can get more candy in less time :) and also maybe be a bit safer.!!

Is the kids club something going on all the time or are you starting something new there after halloween?
Yes we didn't have many either which was probably the product of us living on a busy main street and like you say people tend to go to the easier places to get stuff i guess. What do you do with all the leftover junk!! (I call it junk but some would call it candy:)
I made up little mini books about the life of Jesus that i got from a free printable section at
www.dltk-bible.com if you're interested to check that out it has some neat printable stuff for free that your kids would like sarah.
Thanks for commenting over here. Keep it coming!
